About the role

 

We are currently accepting applications for an Asset Manager to join our Roads contract to develop and deliver the Forward Works Programme, other routine and planned maintenance activities of the lifecycles of Roads and Roads-related assets. The Asset Manager will be integral to our approach to take ownership and pride in the network. This role will support the Asset Manager ANZ in the management and maintenance of the contract asset management system.
The primary aim of this is role to increase knowledge of the current and predicted performance of network assets to refine work programmes. This will ensure the safety of the road user and support the effective and efficient management of resources, and achieve the targets and goals set by the BRS programmes.

 

As the successful candidate in this role, some of your core responsibilities will include;

  • Champion the Asset Management activities throughout the Melbourne Roads Business 
  • Manage the Asset Management System, including ensuring its currency, accuracy and completeness are maintained to the highest levels
  • Analyse, interrogate and assess the network condition data, in conjunction with on-site visual inspections/maintenance costs reports/completed work impacts
  • Maintain familiarity of the network by conducting a full network drive over inspection at least once per month
  • Scope works identified in the Forward Works Program and work with the Project Management Teams to schedule works and negotiate with suppliers to achieve competitive pricing
  • Deliver all annual Compliance Reports within contract specification timelines. Deliver all the output required by the contract in the broad Asset Management area. 
  • Provide input and surveillance (as required) on third party works across the network
  • Deliver all other assigned reports within contract specification timelines
  • Deliver innovations and process improvements on an ongoing basis in a manner that can be quantified

 

Your experience should include but not limited to;

  • General Construction Induction Card (White Card) 
  • Degree (or equivalent experience) in relevant field such as Civil Engineering or Transport Engineering 
  • Minimum ten years’ experience in Highway Asset Management. A high level of asset management experience, including design policy, standards and guideline understanding
  • Competence in maintenance procedures and design phase project management/report requirements
  • Understanding and competency in Asset Management Systems and GIS 
  • Skills and experience in network inspection processes 
  • Prior road maintenance or construction experience
