An exciting opportunity has become available for a Quality Systems Manager reporting to the General Manager – Support Services to join a global diverse organisation.


In this role you will be primarly responsible to:

  • Develop the Quality strategy, policies, processes, standards and systems for Defence Base Services and its supply chain to operate within.
  • Adapt the framework and requirements of the following management system standards to meet client, legal and regulatory and community needs: Quality Mgt Systems ISO 9001, Asset Mgt Systems ISO55001, OHS & Environmental Mgt Systems, Food Safety Standards Code of Aust & NZ.
  • Regulate, control and improve the audit program to ensure all nonconformities raised against certification bodies during audits are effectively corrected and independently verified.
  • Coordinate and lead all internal, 3rd party, customer, regulatory, and vendor audits.
  • Develop a process and systematic method for Risk Management that identifies risk, analyse risk and developing strategies to manage & mitigate risk.
  • Manage risks that can affect outputs of the processes and overall outcomes of the quality management system
  • Develop the Management Systems strategy and the management arrangements for key milestones, demonstrating solid progress against plan.
  • Plan, promote and arrange training activities associated with product quality and reliability. 
  • Ensure people are competent to analyse and evaluate data as needed.
  • Develop and implement achievement strategy for “0′ customer complaints.
  • Measure and monitor customer satisfaction and take appropriate actions.
  • Define objectives of the system and processes necessary to achieve them.
  • Produce necessary business reports and make presentations as required.
  • Train appropriate employees in all aspects of the quality system and application of procedures.
  • Introduce new systems and procedures where appropriate.
  • Conduct Risk assessments of process and tasks in the department.


Required Skills and Competencies:

  • Relevant Degree in Bachelor of Civil Engineering or a related discipline
  • Post Graduate qualifications in Quality or relevant field
  • Minimum of 7 years’ experience in quality management preferably in the construction & maintenance of Infrastructure
  • Results focussed with the ability to identify and prioritise problems and issues, generate solutions and work collaboratively to achieve a successful outcome
  • Experience dealing directly with Government departments on quality and performance matters
  • Demonstrated experience in leading, implementing and maintaining a quality management system and executing quality management measures
  • Demonstrated experience in collaborative and consultative processes at a professional level.
  • Demonstrated leadership competencies with interpersonal communication skills.
  • Well-developed computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Visio and Outlook
  • An ability to work flexibly and adaptively in a complex environment with multiple stakeholders.


Special conditions:

Travel through Australia is required. This position covers remote locations and travel to these locations will be required from time to time/

  • Must have a valid Driver’s License.
  • This position requires an Australian Government Security Vetting Agency Clearance.
