Training Coordinator, Governance Branch


Job Description:

The Opportunity:
We’re looking for someone to contribute to all the work of the section, however the main focus of the job is to coordinate corporate governance training in accordance with legislative requirements and the needs of members and officers of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander corporations. 

You will have: 
  • Strong client focus, including the ability to relate easily and effectively to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, both verbal and written
  • Exceptional organising skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work under pressure, manage time effectively, prioritise conflicting demands and monitor workflows
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Excellent IT skills, particularly in Microsoft Excel.

Our Ideal Candidates:
  The successful candidate will:
  • Contribute to and evaluate strategies for strengthening corporate governance in registered corporations 
  • Contribute to the design, development and evaluation of learning materials and activities analyse and report on the demand for and outcomes of training, taking into account agreed measures and strategic objectives optimise the return on investment in scheduled training through appropriate marketing and quality assurance
  • Follow procedures as appropriate, including creating records in the approved system.
Identified Position

This position is Identified which signifies that the role has a strong involvement in issues relating to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.

This position is required to liaise with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, communities and service providers. You will require cultural competency, including:
  • understanding of the issues affecting Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander peoples
  • demonstrated ability to communicate sensitively and effectively with Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander peoples
  • demonstrated capability and commitment to continue to develop cultural competency
