Policy, Advocacy and Membership Consultant

  • Salary $71,353.36 Plus super. Level 4 of SCHADS Award, Schedule B
We’re seeking someone with education and care expertise and a proven ability to build strong relationships and manage stakeholders across government, industry and affiliate organisations, both at a state and federal level. You will have experience and passion for lending your voice to broadcast and print media, public speaking engagements both in real time and online, and on social media. Your experience in leading membership growth in a not-for-profit organisation will also be highly prized.
About the role
This position is responsible for supporting CCC’s vision, advocacy and peak body role.
Leading state-wide advocacy campaigns on education and care, including government and sector relations and engagement.
  • Working collaboratively to coordinate and maximise CCC’s membership
  • Researching and identifying emerging issues, government policies and trends in or impacting on the education and care sector
  • Developing position statements and policies to support advocacy campaigns
  • Proactively developing relationships with and content for media and social media on advocacy matters
  • Supporting the whole CCC staff team to be active advocates and membership champions
This position exercises delegated authority and the incumbent is expected to exercise a reasonable degree of autonomy.

Job Requirements:

Key requirements:
  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline (Social Sciences, Education and Care or similar)
  • Previous experience in a similar position within a membership based organisation in the community services/not-for-profit sector
  • Well-developed stakeholder engagement skills and experience in building partnerships
  • Current Working with Children Check and police check or equivalent or willingness to undergo such screening
  • A current Victorian Driver’s Licence and daily access to a vehicle
  • Ability to travel through Victoria, if required.
