  • Based in Northern Territory
  • Salary $75,000 to $82,000

The Indigenous Land and Sea Corporation (ILSC) is a corporate Commonwealth entity established under the ATSI Act and subject to the PGPA Act. The ILSC assists Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people to realise economic, social, cultural and environmental benefits that the ownership and management of land, water and water related rights can bring. The ILSC provides this assistance through the acquisition and management of rights and interests in land, salt water and fresh water country.

The ILSC is seeking a highly motivated and experienced person to engage with Traditional Owners and Indigenous Rangers to build their knowledge, skills and capacity to own and manage Fish River situated in the Daly River region. You will work with Traditional Owners and Rangers to deliver a range of benefits for local Indigenous people, protect cultural heritage and enhance biodiversity values on the property.

Reporting to the Manager Strategic Projects you will:
  • Conduct day to day management and coordination of the ranger program through engagement with Traditional Owners and Indigenous Rangers, build their knowledge, skills and capability.
  • Implement the divestment strategy and oversee the implementation of an annual work plan and property budget. Identifying and prioritising natural and cultural resource management including; fire management, cultural heritage management, biodiversity monitoring, pest plant and animal control, track repairs, infrastructure, plant and equipment maintenance.
  • Develop effective collaborations with Indigenous groups to implement the divestment strategy and oversee the implementation of an annual work plan and property budget identifying and prioritising natural and cultural resource management.
