About Student and Scholarly Services

Student and Scholarly Services provides student administration and services from recruitment and point of enquiry to graduation. This team also delivers wellbeing and scholarly services to students and staff.

About Student Information

Student Information is a dynamic and energetic team made up of 10 communications, digital and web professionals. The Student Information team work collaboratively to deliver campaigns and projects showcasing the University’s rich offering of student services.

About the role

As the Web Content Officer you will be responsible for the day-to-day running and maintenance of Student Information websites, including students.unimelb.edu.au. You will be the first point of contact for all web requests and will collaborate closely with colleagues to develop web pages for student-facing campaigns. You will actively train and support web editors across Student and Scholarly Services to deliver best-practice web content.

You will proactively review, report on and improve all Student and Scholarly Services websites, and deliver small/medium sized web projects which ensure that Student and Scholarly Services web content is up to date, engaging and meets the needs of students.

About you

You are enthusiastic and have a strong work ethic with the ability simultaneously work across multiple projects. Your excellent organisational skills allow you to achieve deadlines and ensure all project objectives are accomplished to a high-quality standard. You have strong interpersonal and communication skills allowing you to foster and maintain positive professional working relationships within your team, as well as with a variety of stakeholders.

You will further have:

  • A tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline with subsequent relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and education/training.
  • Significant experience developing and maintaining websites using content management systems (preferably Squiz Matrix).
  • Demonstrated ability to analyse and report on the performance of websites and proactively recommend improvements.
  • Excellent written communication skills, with experience writing and editing content to meet tone and style guidelines, and a strong eye for detail.
