Chancellery develops the overall strategy for the University, setting policy directions, allocating capital, building capability and acting as custodian of the University’s brand.

About the role

As the International Research Project Officer, you will support strategic programs aimed at enhancing the quality and depth of the University’s research and research training activities with its global peers and partners.

You will bring relevant skills and experience to support the identification, development, and delivery of strategic international research partnerships and activities. As such, you will facilitate partnership development by coordinating meetings, workshops and visits with international research partners, by negotiating agreements (including joint PhD agreements and memoranda) that support joint initiatives, and by contributing to advice for senior leadership within CRE regarding significant developments within those partnerships.

About you

You are a strong negotiator with an ability to represent the University’s policies and strategic goals during the negotiation process and when drafting agreements. You have excellent time management and organisational skills, including strong attention to detail, and the ability to achieve high quality outcomes whilst managing multiple tasks with minimal supervision.

You will further have:

  • Completion of a degree level qualification with subsequent relevant work-related experience or equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills (including report writing, correspondence, preparation of presentations) and the ability to liaise effectively with external parties and University staff at different levels.
  • Proven ability to coordinate a range of administrative/project activities and support to senior staff with a capacity to exercise sound judgement, diplomacy and discretion and a demonstrated ability to handle information in a confidential and appropriate manner.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively as a team player, to support colleagues and contribute to the improvement of administrative systems and procedures.
