Project Lead, Program Design


Job Description:

  • Support young Australians to get the most of their education through innovation and design of Smith Family programs 
  • Lead end-to-end development of accelerated program design process
  • Flexible location – Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne
The Smith Family is a national charity helping young Australians in need to get the most out of their education, so they can create better futures for themselves.
The Opportunity
Working as part of our Policy, Practice & Analytics team, this role will lead end-to-end conceptualisation and development of The Smith Family’s accelerated program designing and testing of new and innovative programs.  Working with key stakeholders across the organisation, this role will:
  • Lead the ongoing development of the incubator approach including ongoing development of methodologies 
  • Ensure an innovation culture, aligned to our other innovation efforts, is embedded in the incubator process
  • Apply innovation and design thinking methodologies to build and test proof of concepts and minimum viable products
  • Ensure solutions are scalable and align with the organisations outcomes and to support our growth strategy
  • Develop appropriate tools and resources to support quality and ensure sustainability
  • Build relationships outside of the organisation to share information and to develop best practice
What we are looking for
You will have a thorough experience working with and leading contemporary innovation and design concepts, ideally in a human services environment. Your ability to work collaboratively across the organisation and effectively manage a variety of stakeholders will also enable you to deliver a high quality policy and program output. You are an entrepreneur at heart that can effectively manage the development of new processes and cultural change. Your strong attention to detail, ability to manage multiple priorities and work in a flexible way will enable you to succeed in this role.
