The Role

Origin's LPG Energy Markets Business currently has a vacancy for an experienced Service & Installation Gas Fitter, based in Darwin, NT
The position provides Gas Fitting services for the installation and maintenance of gas equipment at Origin customer and terminal sites within the region.

The Service & Installation Gas Fitter shall be responsible for the following:

• Complete new LPG installations to prescribed time frames in line with required codes and standards
• Ensure all work is completed in a safe manner, applying Origin's permit to work system
• Complete records in accordance with statutory and company requirements for bulk tanks, cylinders and terminal
• To actively participate in all residential, commercial and industrial installations in the area
• Promote Origin's services and build relationships with customers to ensure best possible return for the business 
• Provide advice on LPG gas installations to customers including internal contacts
• Provide quotations to Account Managers for new or upgraded installations in line with required codes and standards
• Interpretation and application of Origin codes and industry standards
• Review existing installations to ensure they comply with current industry standards and Origin codes
• Determine the most appropriate way to complete an installation
• Completion of required documents under the permit to work system

Is This You?

You will be a self-driven, skilled and versatile tradesperson; capable of working autonomously with limited supervision and be able to build credible relationships with customers and stakeholders alike.
While working unsupervised, your ability to deal with customers and resolve gas related issues and remain calm under pressure is essential.

You will be comfortable taking a leading role for multiple small installation projects: coordinating procurement with suppliers, freight providers and 3rd party contractors to ensure safe and timely delivery of installations and projects.
You should have following skills and attributes:

• Trade indentured & Licensed Gas Fitter
• Compliance with current legislations, policies and procedures
• Understanding of relevant industry OHS requirements
• MR Truck Licence is preferred but not essential
• Tools and vehicle supplied​
