About the Role
Life Without Barriers' are seeking an enthusiastic, engaging and experienced Clinician/Psychologist to join the #Synergy team. Working intensively 1-1 with young people and their families, to assist them to make significant improvements to their mental health and wellbeing and to achieve their goals. Drawing on a solid practitioner knowledge base (2-5 years post graduate experience in mental health) you will deliver clinical case management through outcome oriented therapeutic modalities and support to young people and their families with severe and complex mental health difficulties.
As part of a highly skilled, supportive wrap-around outreach mental health team you will provide both clinical and case management interventions to young people with or at risk of severe and complex mental illness. The role is based in Hobart but you will also have the opportunity to work in the community and on an outreach basis in order to meet the needs of young people aged 12-25 years with complex mental health difficulties and needs and their families.

Skills & Experience
  • A tertiary degree in Psychology or Social Work with 2-5 years post graduate clinical experience in mental health.
  • Current full registration or eligibility for registration/membership with the relevant professional body/organisation.
  • A genuine enthusiasm to work in youth friendly ways to provide clinical case management and a range of evidenced-based psychological interventions to deliver positive results.
  • Highly developed analytical skills and demonstrated experience carrying out clinical assessments, developing care plans and therapeutic interventions with clients and their families, using a range of evidence based psychological interventions and standardised outcomes measures.
  • Willing and eager to provide clinical interventions and case management support in an engaging, flexible and client focused recovery approach, and in a range of settings including outreach in rural areas and/or via e-health platforms.
  • Demonstrated capacity to work both as part of a multidisciplinary team, and autonomously with multiple clients to provide wrap around clinical intervention and case management.
  • The ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders and agencies that support young people with complex and challenging needs including tertiary acute and community mental health services, GPs, Schools, Psychiatrists, or other statutory or community based services.
Key Selection Criteria
  • A tertiary degree in Psychology or Social Work with 2-5 years post graduate clinical experience in mental health.
  • Demonstrated capacity to work both as part of a multi-disciplinary team, and autonomously with multiple clients to provide wrap around clinical intervention and case management to deliver outcomes and quality standards within agreed time frames.
  • Highly developed analytical skills and demonstrated experience in carrying out clinical assessments, developing care plans and psychological interventions with clients and families using a range of evidence based psychological interventions.
  • The ability to work collaboratively with agencies that support people with complex and challenging needs such as with mental health services, GPs, Psychiatrists, or other statutory or community based services.
  • Demonstrated experience operating within both internal and external Clinical Governance frameworks
Successful candidates will be required to clear probity checks including National Criminal History Record Check and hold Tasmanian Working with Vulnerable People Registration.
