Job Description:

The Opportunity:
 
As a Communication Generalist you will be responsible for working with internal clients, and across the Communications Branch to deliver multi-channel communications strategies.
 
You will have exceptional writing and client liaison skills. You will work with other areas of the Department to understand their communication requirements and provide strategic communications advice. You will use multi-channel approaches to communications, with a focus on digital and social media, tailoring and targeting information to the correct audience. You will also be responsible for the development and delivery of written content, working across the Communications Branch to produce multi-media content where required.
 
Your role will require you to publish content to digital platforms and Content Management Systems and may require you to conduct interviews and undertake research, in order to effectively implement agreed communication approaches.
 
Our Ideal Candidates:
 
Our Ideal candidate will have the following:
 
• a minimum three years of experience working in a media, communications or public relations role, or relevant tertiary qualification
• excellent stakeholder management, client liaison and time management skills
• highly developed project management skills
• effective analytical skills to assess coverage of key issues and successes
• highly developed written and verbal communication skills
• ability to undertake interviews and use information to develop written, audio and video content
• ability to research and prepare communication strategies in a timely and accurate manner
• an understanding of, or ability to gain, a digital content marketing approach.
 
You should also possess:
 
• the ability to meet deadlines, prioritise and respond flexibly as priorities emerge in an often fast-paced environment
• a keen interest in politics and current events
• a positive attitude, excellent interpersonal skills and a flexible team player ready to lend a hand across the Branch
• the ability to exercise good judgement and pay attention to detail
• a willingness to travel and work outside of normal business hours.
