About the role
This is a challenging but rewarding opportunity for you to make a positive change in the lives of People with a Disability. Clients will include adults and children with high medical needs, challenging behaviours, physical and intellectual disabilities, mental health issues and aged care.

Working in a team, you will facilitate the delivery of quality services and achieve positive outcomes with service users in a positive and proactive environment. You will be actively supporting their individual needs and creating a safe environment during their daily activities.

Please note – you must be prepared to work a minimum of 3 sleepover shifts throughout the week and weekends. This permanent part-time role will be guaranteed a minimum of 30 hours per week.

Key Responsibilities
  • Promote and assist Clients to achieve goals identified in Person Centred Plans.
  • Assist Clients to develop independence and community networks.
  • Ability to demonstrate interpersonal skills with Clients, families and stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and be a productive member of the team.
  • Demonstrate confidentiality and professional boundaries.
  • Ability to adapt and be creative within role.
  • Complete mandatory documentation.

Skills & Experience
  • Unrestricted Australian Drivers Licence
  • Certificate III in Individual Support - Disability or similar – Or willingness to obtain
  • Provide Current First Aid Certificate (completed prior to commencing employment)
  • Experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders
  • Strong Computer literacy skills.
  • Demonstrate ability to maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries.
  • Ability to work autonomously
Successful candidates will be required to clear probity checks including National Criminal History Record Check prior to offer of employment.
