The Indigenous Land and Sea Corporation (ILSC) is a corporate Commonwealth entity established under the ATSI Act and subject to the PGPA Act. The ILSC assists Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people to realise economic, social, cultural and environmental benefits that the ownership and management of land, water and water related rights can bring. The ILSC provides this assistance through the acquisition and management of rights and interests in land, salt water and fresh water country.

The ILSC is seeking an organised and motivated information powerhouse who will work to the Group Chief Executive Officer (GCEO) to provide high level strategic advice, analysis as well as coordination of GCEO workflow across the responsibilities of the ILSC Group. The position will support the GCEO in ensuring effective management and monitoring of correspondence, reports and information flow and tasks between the Office of the Chief Executive Officer (Office of the CEO) and Executive Team. In addition, the role will provide sound research, written and verbal reports and advice to ensure that the GCEO obtains and maintains the ILSC’s Legislative responsibilities, Key Performance Indicator’s, Policy and National Strategy objectives.

Reporting to the GCEO you will:

  • Assist the GCEO and Executive Team with the provision of timely, relevant advice and information, including the tracking of the ILSC Group’s Strategic and Corporate Plans.
  • Research and prepare strategic advice, information and reports on diverse and complex policy, planning and operational matters to facilitate informed decision making and planning.
  • Stay in touch with emerging movements, markets and trends, with particular attention to government changes, to ensure the GCEO is provided with timely, relevant information which informs decision making and ensures long term viability.
  • Assist in and review the provision of high-level communications and correspondence including briefings, reports, submissions and notes to ensure the comprehensiveness, accuracy, and timeliness of written information.
  • Work closely with other members of the Office of the GCEO team including the Executive Assistant to the GCEO, and Board Secretariat.

This is a position of complexity and responsibility to support the GCEO to deliver required outcomes. You will bring considerable experience from a similar role and relevant qualifications that support your skill set. Your relationship building skills will be exceptional as will be your ability to identify critical and crucial detail and analyse complex scenarios. You will know which issues you need to be in front of and have a knack for seeing potential solutions and identifying key data and people. You can draft a brief better than anyone and know how to coordinate information to maximise outcomes.

ILSC has offices in Adelaide, Perth, and Brisbane. However applicants from other locations will be considered. The preferred applicant will be engaged under the provision of the ILC Enterprise Agreement.
