About the role

As Clinical Trials Governance Officer, you will play a key role in supporting institutional governance of the University’s clinical trial activities.

Clinical trials at the University occur in a highly regulated manner with responsibilities being discharged by Chief Investigators, delegated to collaborators/trial sites under the broad oversight of the University. Responsibilities arise under a range of instruments and mechanisms, including statute, regulations, codes of practice, and the University’s sponsorship approval conditions. 

Under the guidance of the Associate Director Research Governance and Quality, you will support Institutional governance of the University’s clinical trial activity, and liaise with stakeholders to ensure that sponsorship regulatory requirements, insurance, registration, ethics, training and legal documentation are in order.

About you

You will have excellent knowledge of investigator-initiated clinical trials and regulation of trials in a research setting. You will also enjoy working collaboratively with a wide range of stakeholders and have a strong eye for detail.

You will further have:

  1. a degree relevant to clinical trial governance and/or regulatory compliance; and
  2. relevant experience and knowledge of clinical trial governance in a research context;
  • Track-record of advising on regulatory requirements and reporting to internal stakeholders;
  • Experience in service improvement and the development and implementation of new or enhanced systems, training, processes, policy or guidance;
  • Ability to manage a significant workload, utilise judgment to prioritise tasks and operate in a highly organised and professional manner.
