The Centre for Future Skills and Workforce transformation
RMIT has established a Centre for Future Skills and Workforce Transformation (CFSWT), to undertake applied research, act as a prototyping lab, system partnership catalyst, and centre of excellence for innovative design of future skills platforms across all segments of the Victorian workforce.

The Centre will form part of RMIT's workforce transformation ecosystem, which includes the world leading RMIT Advanced Manufacturing Precinct facilities, teaching spaces and the Siemens Festo Industrial Digital Innovation Hub.

About the role
Reporting to the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Vocational Education); the Centre for Future Skills and Workforce Transformation Director will lead and develop applied research opportunities, in collaboration with RMIT's other Colleges.

The Director will take a lead role in developing the University's applied research profile in future and digital skills and workforce transformation. This position will lead collaborative applied research on future skills and workforce transformation, building and scaling the evidence and practice base to support Victorian workforce planning and delivery.

As a test lab for future skills, develop and pilot new approaches to skills training and education through digital transformation and pedagogical innovation - leveraging RMIT's multi-sector advantage for the translation of research insights into identifying workforce requirements and co-designing practice-based training approaches with industry.

The incumbent will work with multidisciplinary research and innovation teams to connect and align industry partnerships, pilot new training activities, and advance assessment and qualification design for future skills. Develop approaches and opportunities for commercialisation and financial sustainability and self-sufficiency at scale and has accountability for the overall leadership and management duties of the Centre.

About you
* Post-graduate qualification appropriate to the Centre is desirable.
* Demonstrated record of senior management of research in collaboration with industry and government.
* Demonstrated record of high level of achievement in research and/or innovation in digital workforce transformation and skills.
* Demonstrated capacity to attract significant external funding through contract research and commercial consultancy.
* Proven ability to develop high quality teaching and learning resources in the designated field.
* Demonstrated capacity to work collaboratively to deliver high quality research outcomes.
* Demonstrated ability to lead and develop teams.
* Demonstrated capacity to liaise effectively with stakeholder groups in University, commercial and public domain with a focus on business development and growth opportunities.
* A capacity to think and act strategically and tactically based on organisational priorities and objectives.
