Job Description:

About your role:            
You are known to be inquisitive with a good understanding of how government works and have a keen interest in public affairs and policy issues, including those related to our arts and cultural industries. Your calm and collected nature and flexible attitude go hand in hand with your ability to strategically respond to varied stakeholder requirements and deadlines.

What will you be doing?
  • Leading the day to day management of information and briefing request
  • Collaborating with stakeholders to deliver high-quality responses on public affairs matters
  • Working closely with the Office of the Arts and other government departments to support a diverse group of stakeholders
  • Contributing to the preparation of Senate Estimates and other parliamentary committees
  • Providing strategic advice on arts policy issues and insights on policy challenges
  • Contributing to the development of the annual report and other government relations activities

Job Requirements:

What experience will you have?
  • Relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent experience
  • Demonstrated understanding of the functions of government and parliamentary procedures
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills with the ability to support a diverse range of stakeholders
  • Research and policy development skills
  • Ability to assess priorities and meet multiple deadlines
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically and apply sound judgement
  • Great eye for detail with the ability to identify problems and propose solutions
