ABOUT THE ROLE

 

Provide strategic leadership in a state-wide legal aid family law practice incorporating alternate dispute resolution and child protection legal services and manage the resources in line with corporate priorities and objectives.

As a member of the Executive Team contribute to the development of the Legal Aid NSW’s broader strategies and service delivery planning to ensure the provision of high quality and innovative legal services.


ABOUT YOU

 

We are looking for a legally qualified family law specialist with high level leadership and management experience to lead our Family Law Division. The successful applicant will have the ability to exercise excellent operational and strategic judgement, including being able to manage finances, resources and budgets. You will have strong stakeholder management skills, be results driven and able to deliver in line with Legal Aid NSW’s strategic and business plans.

Job Requirements:

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
 
• Legal Qualifications
 
• Admission or eligibility for admission as a legal practitioner in NSW
 
• Ability to provide a valid Practising Certificate upon commencement
 
• Willingness to undertake a Criminal Record Check and/or working with Children Check
 
• Hold Australian or NZ citizenship, Australian Permanent Resident (essential for ongoing vacancies). Applicable to non-Australian Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander applicants.

• cover letter (maximum 2 pages) responding to the following two questions:
 
1. Describe your experience in leading and managing the provision of state-wide legal services in the family law and care jurisdiction.
 
2. What would your approach be to leading the Family Law Division through a process of implementing strategic responses to the challenges faced by the Legal Aid NSW Family Law Program?

The selection process will include a range of comparative assessment techniques to assist in determining capability and suitability for the role.

This recruitment will be used to fill any current vacancies and may be used to create a Talent Pool for similar future temporary or ongoing vacancies that may arise over the next 18 months.
