Senior Workplace Mentoring Advisor


Job Description:

  • Full-time, Fixed Term position until June 2023
  • Salary Level HEW 8 + 17% Superannuation and Flexible Working Arrangements
  • Based at the Melbourne CBD campus, but may be required to work and/or be based at other campuses of the University
About You
Reporting to the Manager, Workplace Partnerships and Training (WIDI), you will play a critical role in leading and implementing the delivery of the workplace mentoring program to support students predominately working full time in practical and applied learning environments in the social service sector.
Working closely with colleagues in the Vocational Education College, you will lead the planning and coordination of the workplace mentoring program, manage the mentoring team, and contribute to the delivery of ongoing professional development of workplace mentors, industry and teaching teams. 
In addition, you will work proactively in evaluating the mentoring programs to ensure student goals are fully supported and contribute to the continuous improvement of training programs.
To be successful in this position, you’ll have:
  • Demonstrated experience in designing, implementing and evaluating successful mentoring or work and study programs, ideally within the aged care and/or disability services sector. 
  • Demonstrated experience in development and delivery of professional development programs.
  • Evidence of delivery of mentoring or coaching sessions. 
  • Knowledge of career options and study pathways for students within the community services sector.
  • Demonstrated experience in evaluation and reporting.
  • Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills and proven ability to communicate effectively to develop and maintain strong linkages and relationships with students.
  • Experience in using digital technologies for development and delivery of programs.
  • Minimum 3 years Industry experience in social service sector (preferably in disability and/or aged care services) or equivalent with a minimum level role as team leader.
