About the Role

The School of Culture and Communication is currently seeking an Executive Assistant & Events Coordinator to provide high level executive support to the Head of School and to the School Manager. The Executive Assistant & Events Coordinator will work as part of the professional services team that provides administrative services to the Senior Management team within the Faculty.

In a typical week at work, you may:

  • Provide executive and administrative support to the Head of School (HOS) and School Manager
  • Act as the primary contact point for the office handling queries and fielding inquiries to a high degree of accuracy
  • Manage the diary and appointment schedules of the HOS, including arranging meetings with staff, students and other clients
  • Provide effective secretariat support to School Committees
  • Maintain a calendar of School events, conferences, seminars, public programs and lectures

About You

You will demonstrate a high level of independence and the capacity to operate with minimal supervision and provide regular summaries of work to date. You will have excellent organisational skills and the ability to liaise effectively with senior management in the Faculty and wider University. You will use sound judgement in the management of priorities and deliver projects within specified timelines.

Ideally, you will further have:

  • Completion of a diploma or higher qualification in a relevant area with relevant work experience or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills
  • Strong time management and organisational skills
  • Demonstrated experience in managing a wide variety of administrative tasks
  • The ability to work effectively under pressure
  • Strong computer skills in using a variety of standard packages and be able to learn specialised systems
