Job Description:

* An opportunity now exists to join RMIT's School of Health and Biomedical Sciences and contribute to the teaching and research growth within the Chiropractic Discipline

* 1 x Full time, ongoing appointment based in the Bundoora Campus

* Remuneration at Academic Level B ($102,474- $121,690) or Level C ($125,531 - $144,750)) + 17% Super

About the Role

As the Lecturer/Senior Lecturer, you will be expected to contribute to the teaching and research efforts of the School, in disciplines related to their field of expertise. More specifically, you are responsible for carrying out teaching activities within undergraduate, Masters and Graduate Diploma programs and for maintaining and advancing your scholarly, research and/or professional capabilities.

Furthermore, you will also be expected to actively promote the program by establishing and maintaining memberships, links and partnerships with academic, industry and professional communities. You will be expected to work collaboratively and collegially with fellow academics within the teaching team, and update colleagues and students on developments in their subject area or specialisation. You will also be responsible for course coordination. You may have responsibility for clinical coordination (and program management for level C appointment).

About You

To be successful for level B appointment, you will have:

* Demonstrated ability to prepare and deliver programs at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, including online delivery, and the ability to produce high quality curriculum or program materials. Demonstrated capacity to undertake course coordination role.

* Demonstrated capacity to work effectively with and to negotiate sensitively with students especially on issues related to effective learning.

* Emerging track record and recognition for quality research outputs which will contribute to existing Program and School research areas evidenced by publications.

* Excellent interpersonal and communications skills appropriate for developing effective networks with community and industry.

* Demonstrated ability to supervise higher degree by research candidates.

* Excellent interpersonal and communications skills appropriate for interacting with students, higher degree by research candidates, staff and industry, together with a strong commitment to teamwork and multidisciplinary collaboration

To be successful for level C appointment you will have:

* Demonstrated ability to coordinate large courses and prepare and deliver programs at undergraduate and post-graduate levels, including high quality curriculum and program materials and ability to implement innovative approaches to student-centred learning and quality improvement, with expertise in evidence based healthcare

* Ability to manage a large program or a number of small programs and support student issues related to effective learning

* Emerging nationally recognised research track record including substantial record of research outputs in high quality outlets

* Experience in research leadership with the ability to build collaborative research teams, mentor academic staff and manage funded research projects including complex budgets and reporting requirements

* Experience in research leadership with the ability to build and develop collaborative research teams, mentor academic staff to deliver high quality outcomes, attract and secure external research funding to sustain research effort and manage funded research projects including complex budgets and reporting requirements.

* Extensive experience in supervising higher degree by research candidates to maximise research performance

* Demonstrated ability to manage academic program teams, supporting scholarly development of less experienced academic staff

* Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to financial, governance and quality management systems within a university

* Demonstrated high level of interpersonal, communication and negotiating skills including the ability to consult with senior executives, external bodies, produce executive reports, negotiate agreed directions, outcomes and targets within a collaborative environment



* PhD in relevant field.

* Current registration with the Australian health practitioner regulatory agency in the discipline of chiropractic (without condition)

* Appointment to this position is subject to passing a Working with Children check
