About the Organisation
Boorndawan Willam Aboriginal Healing Service (BWAHS) delivers a range of programs and services to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women, men and their families who have been impacted by family violence. These services include the provision of case management; intensive family support; counselling for women, men, youth, and children; and programs for men, women, and children.
The Women's and Children's Family Violence Services Leader is a senior management position with a direct report to the CEO. This position leads the provision of services in case management, family supports and counselling services.
This is an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Identified Position and forms part of our Executive Leadership Team (ELT).
About the Opportunity
BWAHS is seeking a dynamic Family Violence Services Leader to join their team full-time, in Bayswater, Melbourne.
Reporting to the CEO, you will be responsible for managing and developing several teams - the intensive case management team, integrated family services team, AOD team, and therapeutic counselling team.
As this is an executive position it will guide strategic direction in these teams and input to the wider organisation's development and quality service delivery.
As our Family Violence Services Leader, you will lead the therapeutic team, the alcohol and other drugs team (AOD), the intensive family support (IFS), and the intensive case management (ICM) teams.

About You
As our Family Violence Services Leader, you will have a background in managing people working in Family Violence or other community services. You will bring your cultural practice skills and hold a qualification in community services, social work, community development or similar. It is essential that you have a comprehensive knowledge of Family Violence and Therapeutic Healing, as well as demonstrated practical experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women and their families.
You will need to demonstrate a practical understanding of the legislative, policy, and practice requirements relating to Aboriginal children, families, and communities impacted by family violence.
Please note: You will need to hold or be willing to obtain a current National Police Check and Working with Children Check. You will also need a current Driver's License and COVID vaccination certificate
