The Opportunity:
The Information Service Branch (ISB) is responsible for the smooth delivery and support of core ICT services to The Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet (PM&C) and a range of Shared Services partners including the National Indigenous Australians Agency (NIAA).
ISB is seeking highly motivated and experienced individuals to fulfil two Assistant Director, Product & Project Management (Shared Services Application Development Section) positions at the EL 1 level.
These vacancies are ongoing and non-ongoing. We also intend to create a merit list which can be leveraged over the coming 18 months for any new ongoing or non-ongoing vacancies for similar roles within the branch.
As an Assistant Director you would in general be required to:
- Product/project manage Microsoft Dynamics 365 and/or ServiceNow applications in multidisciplinary software development teams using Agile methodology
- Provide high level executive, program/project, financial, procurement and/or system support to the branch and the department
- Manage staff and build team capability
- Promote a customer focused culture within work areas and provide value add outcomes to the clients
- Under broad direction coordinate and resolve complex and sensitive issues
- Represent and explain the views/position of the agency at cross-agency meetings and other forums in the context of more complex issues
- Prepare correspondence and corporate documentation, reports, submissions and proposal papers.
Our Ideal Candidate
We are looking for strong performers with a proven track record in achieving operational outcomes in a broad range of areas which may include but are not limited to:
- ICT product management, and
- project management and executive reporting.

- Be flexible and be able to balance between applying rules and achieving business outcomes
- People skills - can motivate staff, lead a small team and also have confidence to engage and collaborate with key stakeholders to identify opportunities, achieve outcomes and facilitate cooperation
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills - be able to present a logical and compelling argument and negotiate on better outcomes for the department
- Demonstrated experience in managing priorities and delivering quality outcomes in tight timeframes
- Be able to recommend strategic directions and consider wider agency implications when making decisions.

To be eligible for this position you must be an Australian Citizen.
The occupant must be able to obtain and maintain a Baseline Vetting (Protected) level security clearance, or hold a current security clearance of an appropriate level.
The successful candidate will be required to be assessed through our pre-employment screening checks, such as an Australian Criminal History Check
