Job Description:

Full-time, Continuing position * Salary Level HEW 8 + 17% Superannuation and Flexible Working Arrangements * Based at the Melbourne CBD campus, and hybrid ways of working About You As the System Administrator you will be responsible for configuring and managing a new Research Management System (RMS) through the Project MODERN delivery stage to implementation and ongoing business as usual operations. You will be responsible for working collaboratively with the Project MODERN Business Analyst and subject matter experts to determine configuration required in the system to support streamlined end to end processes. A service centric approach to managing the system is fundamental to establishing yourself as a trusted partner to the research community at RMIT and ensuring the most positive experience for researchers and professional staff using the new RMS. You will be fundamental to designing an ongoing system support model across ITS and Research and Innovation (R&I) functions at the University. You will also have a keen eye to identify service improvement opportunities that can be enabled by the RMS. The role will develop system configuration support documentation aligned to process and requirements, , knowledge articles and other project related artefacts as required. The role will work closely with Project MODERN leadership, R&I staff and research support staff across the University to ensure the system provides comprehensive and quality data for a variety of reporting purposes. Once live, you will be responsible for ongoing system upgrades and configuration to support the RMIT research endeavor. You will work closely with a variety of relevant stakeholders across the R&I Portfolio, Operations Portfolio, digital squads and Colleges, exercising initiative and effective communication while maintaining alignment with Project MODERN then moving to relevant business area priorities. To be successful in this position, you'll have as a minimum: * Excellent communication, relationship-building, and negotiation skills with the ability to work collaboratively with academic and professional staff from diverse backgrounds and portfolios to solve problems. * Outstanding analytical and problem-solving skills and the capacity to develop creative solutions to solve stakeholder needs based on the articulated requirements. Demonstrated ability to accurately gather, analyse and develop business requirements from a range of clients and stakeholders. * Demonstrated ability to maintain quality system support documentation, ensuring an accurate ongoing record is kept of system configuration. * Demonstrated ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision, make informed decisions, deliver outcomes on time and contribute to team success. * Demonstrated ability to exercise discretionary judgment and manage workload while maintaining accuracy. * High-level proficiency in computer software packages with accuracy, attention to detail and ability to learn new technical skills. * Demonstrated excellence in writing and presentation skills in order to develop training content and contribute to change management and communications and reports across RMIT. * Demonstrated Lean expertise to identify system and process efficiencies, and to suggest and implement solutions.
